Looking Glass was recently invited to go down to the Sunshine State last week to complete one of our most exciting ventures to date. The Loxahatchee River Historical Society reached out to Looking Glass in hopes that we could assist with providing a new service for The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. The Jupiter Inlet Light is a popular tourist destination and place of interest in Jupiter, FL located just south of Cape Canaveral, FL in the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. The Loxahatchee River Historical Society wanted to provide a virtual option to climb and explore the Jupiter Inlet Light for persons with disabilities or conditions preventing them from climbing the 105 cast iron steps leading to a breathtaking panorama of Jupiter.
Looking Glass happily provided not only a virtual tour experience for anyone unable to climb the lighthouse, but also helped the Loxahatchee River Historical Society with acquiring compatible software and hardware to make this virtual experience come to life. The Jupiter Inlet Light is now fully equipped with 2 Samsung Gear headsets that provide a full 360 degree experience. This experience includes climbing the 105 foot lighthouse, a stunning view of the surrounding city, and a brief walk about the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum grounds.
With their new equipment, mobile application support, and 360 virtual tour; The Loxahatchee River Historical Society is now able to offer tours to all 75,000 visitors a month. Including the approximate 3,000-4,000 visitors a month that are unable to physically climb the lighthouse due to a physical condition or disability.
